~gd~ Music of the Last Century no. 17: "Tremblers Described" - May 16, 2018
My first concert centered around a New Music America alumni since 1996. But as wonderful as was Eugene Chadbourne that night, it was the local duo Tremblers of Sevens that inspired me to write.
Not much is needed here since the entire program is the reading of my notes spontaneously reacting to the recording of the performance I had attended in June 2017 at the legendary (and missed) Logan’s Pub in Victoria, B.C. Though I did not meet him that night, it was where I would discover Sol Mogerman as well.
There was something about the duo of Julie and Wise known as “Tremblers of Sevens” that was describable and for my first nearly simultaneous description since concluding the writing of Rosenberg 3.1 Not Violin Music, my chops had been sharpened enough for me to attempt and succeed this modest text, which received an edited radio premiere.

All of the descriptions are still here in full on the “Microphonic Fool” you tube website. You’ll find each track described in the comments on this site created and hosted by friend Scott Bennett who did arrange for me to meet Sol and Scott Henderson at the latter’s 60th birthday party. There are many things worth discovering there as well!

On my facebook.com/musicofthelastcentury page, I wrote this as a promotion to the program. I note at the end “next stop Aleppo” which was a reference to my having the duo on as my first guests on the program later in the year, talking about their first full length album named Aleppo.
THE TREMBLERS AND I
I was the secretary taking minutes of the meeting.
I was the writer describing everything he could.
I was the stranger who connected at chord one with the music.
I was the guy who finally saved up enough for a night on the town.
I am the voice describing the music for most of this hour.
"Yes, I will be talking over all ten tunes for the hour."

Thanks Wise and Rad! Next stop, Aleppo!
Part one of that three performance evening was Sol Mogerman:
And the end of the perfect evening was with the good Doctor Eugene Chadbourne in his finest:
